Welcome Statement

All Places Together believes that God is with all people wherever, whoever, and however you are. We proclaim this in all we do, especially as we embrace God’s diverse creation.

God created all people. God calls all people to love one another fully, deeply, and as Jesus loves us (Matthew 22:34-40; John 13:35). God’s kin-dom is more fully known when diversity is embraced and empowered. We affirm that LGBTQIA+ peoples are made in the image of God. We affirm that bodies of all colors, sizes, and abilities are made in the image of God. We are committed to dismantling the racism within ourselves and striving for racial equity in our faith community and in our respective local contexts. We acknowledge the intersections of sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, education, mental health, neurodiversity, and wealth greatly shape our experience of the world and we strive to listen to and learn from those who are different from us.

As All Places Together grows, we will remain committed to lifting up diverse voices in the podcast and amplifying the voices of the LGBTQIA+ and diverse leaders in the church and society. We will give financially to support these leaders. Likewise APT will partner with LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and/or women led businesses whenever possible for APT ministry needs. As APT staff grows, we are committed to hiring LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC persons.

Pastor Colleen Montgomery and Pastor John Wertz, Jr. (Director for Evangelical Mission, Virginia Synod) submitted the final paperwork for APT to become RIC on June 28, 2021 on this Zoom call!
